Sphagnum Angustifolium (Live Inoculum)
Morphology & Diagnosis: A small to medium-sized bryophyte that forms dense mats ranging in color from green to yellowish. It is taxonomically distinguished by its triangular stem phyllids (leaves), which are minute (less than 0.8 mm) with apices ranging from pointed to blunt. Its architecture features fascicles typically composed of 2 spreading branches and 2-3 long pendant branches.
Ecology & Habit: A minerotrophic species that thrives in fens and wet environments with moderate mineral content. It exhibits significant ecological plasticity, tolerating light shade, which allows it to colonize ecotones such as forest edges or shrubby areas. It is a dioicous species.
