Foliar Morphology: A bryophyte characterized by branch phyllids (leaves) exhibiting an isosceles-deltoid to broadly triangular-ovate geometric projection.
Diagnostic Microscopy: At the cellular level, it is distinguished by hyalocysts with rectilinear, non-incrassate (thin) commissural walls. Its defining taxonomic trait (hence the epithet centrale) is the location of the chlorocysts in a central position within the leaf lamina thickness, entirely enclosed by hyalocysts in transverse section, providing significant structural resilience.
