Sphagnum Auriculatum (Live Inoculum)
Branch Morphology & Diagnosis: A species belonging to the Subsecunda section, recognizable by its contorted branch architecture. Its spreading branches display a characteristic curvature (arcuate habit), visually resembling "cow horns."
Chromatism & Structure: The foliage exhibits a variegated coloration alternating between olive-green and whitish-green tones, resulting from the visual contrast between chlorocysts and large hyalocysts. It is a robust bryophyte that often presents concave and asymmetric phyllids (leaves).
Ecology: A hydrophytic and minerotrophic species, frequent in water body margins, inundated hollows, and fens with moderate nutrient flow.
