Taxonomy & Unique Morphology: A singular species, the sole representative of the Polyclada section. Its most notable diagnostic trait is the architecture of its fascicles, which possess an unusually high number of branches (6 to 12 or more), giving it a rigid and dense appearance. The capitulum (apical rosette) is characteristically spherical and compact, resembling a pom-pom.
Ecology & Hardiness: This clone of North American provenance is noted for its hardiness. It is a typically sylvatic and sciophilous (partial shade tolerant) species, adapted to colonize elevated or "drier" microhabitats within swamp forests (such as tree bases). This adaptation grants it superior resistance to moderate desiccation compared to strictly aquatic species.
