Sphagnum Divinum (Dark / Atropurpureum Phenotype)

Taxonomy & Ecology: A robust species belonging to the Sphagnum magellanicum complex. It is characterized by high ecological plasticity and resilience, frequently occurring in syntopy (co-existing) with S. medium within deep, saturated peat layers.

Chromatism & Phenotypic Selection: This specific strain has been selected for its extreme anthocyanin response. While exhibiting a vibrant green (chlorophyllous) basal coloration, optimal lighting conditions (high PAR) trigger a massive synthesis of secondary pigments. This results in a dramatic chromatic shift, evolving from intense reds to deep garnet or near-black (black/maroon) hues, offering an exceptional visual contrast rarely seen in other species of the genus.
